QUALITY AS PART OF OUR STRATEGY
As a company, at SDT AIR we make sure the needs and expectations of our clients are identified, transformed into requirements and met in their entirety, all in aid of achieving client satisfaction, while meeting with all legal provisions and regulations, the intention being to surpass the expectations generated for the supply of ventilation components.
The company’s management has made a firm commitment to integrate quality into its strategy in order to have available the tools and techniques needed to pursue ongoing improvement.
Our quality policies and quality indicators are periodically revised by management in order to adjust to the reality of each moment, and this is in turn communicated to all SDT AIR personnel and collaborators.
PERFORMANCE TESTING
Testing is carried out at CETIAT’s facilities, which is a laboratory for studying, testing and calibrating that covers the fields of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, heat and acoustic sciences. It is AMCA certification-approved to obtain the mathematic models needed to simulate the different operational conditions for the impellers in terms of variations in air density, motor rpm, pressure and flow variables, etc.
The performance tests our impellers are subjected to for obtaining the characteristic curves are in line with standard ISO 5801:2010 “Industrial fans. Performance testing using standardised airways”.
To obtain the impellers’ sound spectrum, one-third octave bands are measures according to standard ISO 13347-2:2004 “Industrial fans. Determination of fan sound power levels under standardised laboratory conditions — Part 2: Reverberant room method”, to obtain a weighted global sound power in dB(A).
BALANCING SYSTEM
Our balancing system is based on standard ISO 21940:
• ISO 21940-2 “Mechanical vibration — Rotor balancing — Part 2”, to guarantee that the equipment will meet with all the requirements of the standard.
• ISO 21940-11 “Mechanical vibration — Balance quality requirements for rotors in a constant (rigid) state”, to guarantee fulfilment with balance thresholds, the necessary number of correction planes and the methods for verifying residual unbalance.
As indicated by the standard, impellers are balanced to regulation G6.3, and they may be balanced to more precise grades as required by the client.
